Mizo Readers, please visit the new MIZO SECTION
Mizos and other Christians in Northeast India have to remind themselves to reach out to Hindus and Muslims! For Christians in the region with limited vision, it is difficult to go to unreached peoples in far-away lands and yet there are Muslims and Buddhists in their midst. The principle well articulated by a Navigator’s leader is a good lesson: “If you cannot see far ahead, go ahead as far as you can see.” Do we go as far as we can see? We need to examine ourselves.
We had a joyful evening.Submitted by Ngeni Mualchin.
2. We received photos of Bible distribution in Jails through the ministry of Pi Sapi, wife of Dr. P.C. Biaksiama. The Bibles have been contributed through MCGN. God can transform the lives of inmates through the service of people like Sapi. When you receive a call from the Lord for a specific service, obey and do it! Follow this with or without the support or recognition of churches. To obey the Lord is biblical as the first believers did in the book of Acts.
3. We received word that 2000 copies of the second edition of ‘Sensei’, the story of missionary Irene Webster-Smith, is about to be released. The translators scrupulously revised it even though the first edition was recognized among the best Mizo books last year. We expect that more Mizo readers will be blessed and challenged by this wonderful story of a great missionary to Japan!Reports also state that in Southern India many women suffer abuse and rape. Women don’t have good protection as found in USA.
There are reports that many became sex slaves. Sadly, young girls from neighboring country of Nepal are also sold for sex slaves in India, especially in Mumbai. Clearly, these are evidences of lives dominated by Satan. What it tells is that the world, inspite of development, is lost without Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus can liberate them from such hopeless lives. Pray for their salvation and freedom from the power of Satan. May the Lord send workers to share the Good News of salvation and be released from the bondage of Satan!
Help needed for non-Buddhist children from poor tribal villages and orphanages as they are being forced to Buddhism involuntarily. It has been reported that Buddhist leaders take the children away to their establishments and raise them as Buddhists. To free them from this trap, they need help. Pray what you can do for them.
1. We had a fruitful time in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada where Liana presented a poster paper in the 13th World Conference on Earthquake Engineering (13WCEE) Aug. 1-6, 2004. Liana met his old friends and made new friends as well, especially from India, including a young lady, half-Mizo, from Arunachal Pradesh!
2. We also attended the first night meeting of the South Asian Global Conference (SAGC-2004) hosted by Punjabi Masihi Church of Richmond, BC. In the meeting, we met Brother Stuart Spani from North Vancouver, who made a Mizoram video; Mr. Khim Khandel from Nepal; Ms. Tahira Haider Ali, a great singer with beautiful voice; retired Canadian missionaries to India; and the worship music team.
On our return journey, we spent one night in Portland, Oregon with Harold and Polly Kurtz, and their house guest, Ms. Hanna from Ethiopia. As usual with the Kurtz, we had a great time of sharing our joys and burdens. The Lord blessed Harold with excellent health; he is very strong inspite of his age. He will be visiting Ethiopia this winter.MCGN International HQ: USA: Lalliana Mualchin (Email: mualchin@hotmail.com)
