BRIEF REPORTS FROM MCGN GLOBAL POINTS

INDIA: MIZORAM, AIZAWL
Bishop Stephen Rotluanga has planned to visit Canada and USA in August, followed by a visit to Rome to see the Pope in September. We wish him a safe journey and God’s many blessings.

Liana talk with Pu Lianthanga, Founder-President of Sinner’s Friend in Mizoram on the CFI project. Lianthanga understood the difficulties in comunication on this project because of difference in the system of the board in USA and in Mizoram. His long experience in ministry and wisdom on difficult issues in Mizoram are greatly appreciated.

JAPAN
Rev. Joseph Raltawng informed us the person who may be responsible for MCGN-Japan. Note that Pu Lalhruaia immigrated to USA recently leaving Japan without an MCGN leader there. Pray that we will hear from that person soon. Our ministry totally depends on volunteers who are willing to serve as Jesus did. We thank Pu Hruaia for his initiating and leading MCGN-Japan in the past.

Rev. Raltawng was granted a visa to minister in Japan and is now joined by his family. We pray that the Lord will use him for His glory.

NEPAL
Ringa Pachuau wrote his appreciation regarding our email on the position of some USA and Canadian churches on certain controversial issues. We do appreciate his networking and sincere spirit.

Lura has been organizing another session on Discipleship Training. Pray that the Lord will bring in more Tibetan people through the Pokhara-based ministry of Lura and his wife, Sangtei.  The ministry is appropraitely named, Himalaya Harvest Ministry.

USA: HEADQUARTERS
We are planing a trip to Asia from Jan-Feb 2004. God willing, it is our desire to visit friends in Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Bangladesh, Nepal, and India. Liana has been invited to give a lecture at IIT Kanpur by a professor friend. Also, his paper has been accepted for presentation at an international meeting in New Delhi during the same time. Pray that our needs for time and finance will be met. We hope that our good friends will be able to make arrangements for our visits and pray the Lord will open doors for serving Him. We do not have specific plans and pray for the Lord’s leading and direction.

We had a mini meeting in August while Patricia Macy was out of town. Marian Hanna, and Liana & Ngeni Mualchin discussed how MCGN Board in USA make decisions on projects we want to do in Mizoram. Our principle is “not giving fish but teaching how to catch fish.” We will agree to work with others on projects in partnership only after we are assured of their full commitments. We have learn this important lesson through past experiences. We believe in equal sacrifice and not equal amount. We believe in a biblically sound principle for partnership in ministry.
