CONGRATULATIONS
We are glad to inform you that a book, "Communist Jail Tibet" by Mr.Lallura, a missionary in Nepal, was selected as "Book of the Year" by Mizoram Academy of Letters, Aizawl. The book is written in Mizo. A short note on the book follows.

Review Comments by Ngeni Mualchin:
This book is about Lura's ten days experience in a Tibetan Jail. He was imprisoned there for distributing Christian literature. How he handled the situation really impressed me and made me humble. Lura became a good example for other inmates and security officials. They could see Jesus' love in Lura's life. God gave him wisdom to introduce Jesus' love and His salvation to communist people there. For example: When they asked him about the literature (in Tibetan language) he distributed, he said, " I don't know the Tibetan language very well. If you read the literature you will know what they are about." Some police officers began to have interest and read it. I recommend every Mizo Christian, especially missionaries, to read Lura's book. I wish this book were translated in English also so others can read it too. I believe that it would be a blessing and challenging for readers as it is for me. Selected as one of the best books of 2002 by the Academy proves its worth.

BRIEF REPORTS FROM MCGN GLOBAL POINTS

INDIA: MIZORAM, AIZAWL
Our Mizoram Co-ordinator, Dr. P.C. Biaksiama (Siama), sent us his testimony and passion for ministry. We are blessed to have him on our team. Now, he is starting various activities for MCGN. You will hear more about these.

He is working on selecting candidates for award of the Juliet Florio scholarship. We thought that the process was already done for the current school year. Because of miscommunication with the person who was working on this, it was not processed. Siama had to do it from start and it is almost done now. We hope that worthy and deserving  students will be encouraged by the scholarship.

Bro. Sam Joseph informed us about the good news of coming celebration of the 25th anniversary of the English Congregation in Mizoram. About 120 people attend their Sunday service. Praise God for the 25th anniversary celebration and may they continue with joy and strength from the Lord! Note that there are significant numbers of non-Mizo speaking people in Mizoram, especially in Aizawl. The Congregation is to fill the need for such people. Thank you Bro. Sam for sharing the good news.

NEPAL
Mr. Lallura sent us a general article on the importance of encouragement, motivation and good communication for a successful ministry and for any organization. Also, he highlighted the importance of active listening. It is written in Mizo and we can send it out only to Mizo readers.

He also sent us an article on "God's Plan for His Church" in English.  In spite of more pressing tasks, we thank Lura for writing regularly with such contributions. Even though he is far away in Pokhara, we thank God for the power and convenience of information highways for Kingdom Ministry.

USA: HEADQUARTERS

Introducing MCGN at Chuch of the Foothills, Cameron Park, California:
Senior Pastor Brian Long opened the opportunity to share MCGN ministry in three Sunday morning services on March 2 at Church of the Foothills (COTF), Cameron Park, California. Prior to his invitation, the church leadership was informed about MCGN ministry and they prayed for us.

On this occasion, Connie Harrison represented her husband, Rev. Bob Harrison, who is currently in Taiwan on a mission trip. She shared how Bob and Liana met a year ago at an interdenominational monthly Men's Breakfast Fellowship and about their involvement in overseas missisons from their missionary parents, especially in China. Connie skillfully drew a picture of typical second or third generation Christians' spiritual stagnantation, such as now in Mizoram, and the need to have a deeper Christian life for effective living. This topic will be addressed in the April mission trip to Mizoram by Bob and the Fosters.

Pastor Brian thoughtfully interviewed Liana on our personal background and testimony, and how Mizo Christian Global Network was started. Our family was recognized and our names (Liana and Ngeni) were said together by the congregation for their remembrance! How the church and interested members can be a partner of MCGN was the logical concluding item. Inclusion in the church prayer list, regular distribution of an informational page of MCGN, attendance at meetings, and any other personal support were Liana's response. He also noted that MCGN is a "zero budget and all volunteer" ministry. At the end of the interview, Pastor requested one of the deacons to pray for us. Liana was asked to make a concluding congregational prayer for the morning services.

After the services, we were warmly received in the light of MCGN ministry. Some members contributed financially for the needs, especially to buy New Testaments for inmates in Mizoram jails. It was truly a joy and encouragement to have the support of the church. We thank and praise the Lord for a wonderful time of introduction.

Institute for Creation Research, Santee, California:
On their trip to southern California to pick up Lisa, Liana and Ngeni Mualchin made a side trip to the Institute for Creation Research (ICR) at Santee, near El Cajon. Probably, this is the foremost institute of its kind in the world, started by Dr. Henry Morris. The Mualchins had a warm and cordial talk with Prof. Kenneth Cumming, Dean of Graduate School. They enjoyed ICR's excellent museum on the seven days of creation week, supported by appropriate Bible verses. They also saw ICR research center building but did not have time to explore it. The purpose of their visit was to explore if ICR would consider a limited visiting program. MCGN hopes and prays that the Lord will open the door for Dr. Biaksiama, our Mizoram Co-ordinator who is very familiar with ICR, to visit here in the near future for promoting the unique ministry on creation science. We believe that students must be given the creation history as clearly given in the first book (Genesis) of the Holy Bible.

Prison/Jail Ministry:
(Ngeni Mualchin)

Thanks to wonderful friends for your prayers and financial support! We recently ordered 100 New Testaments with Psalms in Mizo. These will be distributed to inmates in the largest jail in Mizoram, the Central Jail of Aizawl. As of this writing, we hope to order 200 more. My goal for 2003 is 1,000 New Testaments with Psalms for all the inmates in Mizoram. May the Lord reveal himself to the hearts of inmates in Mizoram through the reading of the Bible.
