BRIEF REPORTS FROM MCGN GLOBAL POINTS
INDIA: MIZORAM, CHHIMTUIPUI AREA
We received a warm letter from leaders of Saiha Churches about their
acceptance to host Dr. & Mrs. K. Neil Foster and Rev. Bob Harison for
interdominational church meetings in April 2003. They will take care of the
visitors after Lawngtlai programme is over and till their departure from Lengpui
airport.
We also received a letter from the Chairman of Lawngtlai Churches Leaders
Committee, Rev. Th. Vanlalzauva stating their acceptance to host Dr. & Mrs. K.
Neil Foster and Rev. Bob Harisson for interdenominational meetings as stated
above. They will be taking care of the visitors from Lengpui airport and till
their appointed time at Lawngtlai is done.
We telephoned leaders in Saiha and Lawngtlai to confirm the meetings. We were
all encouraged by the moving of the Holy Spirit in bringing us to work together.
We expect the power of the Holy Sprit to work upon us in a new way to spread His
love. Some of them already sensed and visioned the need for all Christians to
work together to be effective, and so this is not a new thing at all. It is in
the Lord’s timing that it will happen!
JAPAN
Coordinator, Lalhruaia (Hruaia) and Secretary, Rev. Joseph Raltong informed
us some of their activities. They continue to support financially missionaries
in Myanmar (Burma) and beyond. They also need our prayers for their spiritual
life as the country is not open to Christianity. While materially wealthy, it is
not so spiritually in Japan.
NEPAL
A special note of recognition for our MCGN member in Nepal. Most of them are
missionaries sent by different denominations and organizations, and so are
responsible to the sending agencies. Sometimes it is not possible for them to
report some of their activities. We appreciate when they can share with us what
the Lord is doing through their ministries so that we can praise the Lord with
them. We will expect to hear their needs for prayers and also sharing their joys
and praises in months and years to come. We all serve the same Lord and Savior
together, and we are on the Lord!
Their annual meeting was held last month (January 26) in Kathmandu. Some 61
members were present and they had a wonderful time.
The current leaders are: President - Jm. Vanlalhriata; Vice President - Rev. V.
Kapenga; Secretary - Rev. K. Lalthangmawia; Asst. Secretary - Mr. Vanchuangpuia;
Treasurer - Mr. Laltlankima Hnamler; Asst. Treasurer - Mrs Zirthangi; Senior
Advisers - Mr. Lalringa Pachuau and Mr. Lallura (Pokhara); Committee Members -
Ms.A. Lawmsangzuali, Mr. Lalthantluanga (Dharan), and Rev. SU Lalengmawia (Kakarvitta).
They decided to stop producing Newsletter and start an information center. We
think this is a very good idea and it will fill one of our needs for more
information. Ministry can be simple and yet effective.
USA: HEADQUARTERS
As stated in "Thanks and Praises", Bob Harisson found speakers for the April
2002 joint-meetings in Saiha and Lawngtlai churches. We prayed hard for
appropriate speakers. We thank God for providing our needs. Thanks to Dr. & Mrs.
Fosters! We will hear more about these wonderful people who are willing to
minister there.
Bob also managed to order books and pamplets for study by church leaders in
Saiha and Lawngtlai churches in preparation for the meetings. Liana & Ngeni
Mualchin mailed to Dr. P.C.Biaksiama (Siama) who is entrusted to make sure that
they were received by Saiha and Lawngtlai leaders. We are glad to report that
Siama already received the mail bag a few days ago.
We are very pleased and encouraged to report that Rev. David Hitt of Portland,
Oregon has kindly introduced MCGN to Dr. Sidney De Waal and his wife Janet.
Sidney used to be the President of Jerusalem University College in the Holy Land
for a number of years, and is now with the International Council of Higher
Education. We really need leaders like Sidney and Janet, having experience and
wisdom, to support us in our ministry. Let us welcome warmly Sidney and Janet to
MCGN!
Requests for help and information:
(Liana Mualchin)
From time to time, a number of people have requested for help and information.
For example, information for job opportunities, financial support for
individuals or worthy organizations, writing articles for worthwhile
publications, providing information about Mizoram, etc. While these are
wonderful opportunites to serve others, we are extremely limited in our
resources to attend to the requests. MCGN is an organization with "zero" budget
and by "volunteers". In order to meet the requests, we appeal to the readers to
become supporters of MCGN. We specially need volunteers from the worldwide Mizo
community. Until we have more volunteers, we will not be able to respond to
requests but will do so only to MCGN members and supporters. I will be sending
out an email on the details.
Prison/Jail Ministry
(Ngeni Mualchin)
I strongly felt the need of Bible and good reading materials for inmates in
Mizoram, especially after my recent visits to the jails in Nov-Dec., 2002. Some
good friends began to take actions.
Patricia Macy wrote to Radio Bible Class (RBC) ministry for free copies of "Our
Daily Bread" daily devotional booklets. Jean Marlow and her friends will request
copies of New Testament (English) to the Gideon Ministry. I also shared the
story with Jan Cookson. I was associated with her for a number of years in the
Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) ministry. She was so touched for the need that she
contributed a financial support.
I am thankful for good respones for the Jail Ministry. I hope to buy at least
100 New Testaments (Mizo) for inmates of Central Jail, Aizawl.
PRAYER REQUESTS
For persecuted Christians in different parts of the world.
That Christian workers will have same vision and united spirit for the
Lord’s Kingdom building.
That "Peace with God" may flow out around the world. We all may rest in
the security in the strong name of the Lord Jesus Christ!
Good health for Juliet Florio (daughter of Mark & Aleta) in California.
Healing for Julie Rohrer (daughter of Steve & Jemi) in Japan that she may
grow healthy and strong.
Healing for Sarah (daughter of Sam Joseph, English Fellowship, Aizawl) in
South India.
For church leaders in Saiha and Lawngtlai in southern Mizoram as they are
preparing for joint-meetings in April 2003 and for the speakers, Dr. & Mrs. K.
Neil Foster and Rev. Bob Harisson in their travel arrangements.
Continue to pray for the safety and good health for Lisa Mualchin. She is
returning to California from Mizoram at the end of this month (February 2003)
"The harvest is truly plentiful, but the laborers are few.
Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His
harvest"
(Mt. 9:37-38).
