MCGN is a non-profit, non-denominational Christian organization promoting spiritual and economic development of the people in Mizoram and the surrounding region by serving them as Jesus did (Mt. 20:28).

“The harvest is truly plentiful, but the laborers are few.  Therefore pray the Lord

of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest” (Mt. 9:37-38)

THANKS & PRAISES:

BRIEF REPORTS MCGN GLOBAL POINTS:

[ INDIA- ( MIZORAM  ) | JAPAN | NEPAL | USA | MYANMAR | APPEAL ]

INDIA-MIZORAM:

We want to convey a special greeting to all members and supporters of MCGN from our Mizoram Coordinator, Dr. P. C. Biaksiama. After praying fervently to God with Pu Lianthanga (Founder, Friends of Sinner) and other friends, they were convinced that the Lord "approved" Dr. Biaksiama to be our Mizoram coordinator. His desires for ministry are very similar to MCGN's vision. We believe that the Lord has brought the right person at the right time. We are thankful to Dr. Biaksiama and are looking forward to his leadership. Please remember him in your prayers. Also, pray that we wisely prioritize our activities in Mizoram. We want to do as William Carey said, "Expect great things from God and attempt great things for God."

Mizo Electronic-Bible typing is progressing well. We expect to see the finished product soon. The New Testament portion has been submitted by a paid typist but it has many typing errors. It is now being corrected by Lalbiakdika Varte.

Final Mizo translation of "Sensei", the story of missionary Irene Webster-Smith by Russel Hitt, has been completed by Pi Nongheli (Novi) and her husband, Pu Kharmawia (Mawia), both teachers at the Serkawn Christian High School. The book is expected to be published within the next two months. We are excited to know that this wonderful book will be in the hands of Mizo readers soon.

SPECIAL APPEAL!
Recently, a young Mizo girl, Lalliannguri (14), sadly met a tragic accident. She is from a Myanmarese village near the Mizoram (India) border. While travelling to Mizoram to earn money for school text-books, she stepped on a bomb placed by anti-social elements. She lost two legs and one eye.  She was admitted to Civil Hospital in Aizawl. Pu Lalbiakngura of Aizawl has donated a wheelchair for her. MCGN-Japan has donated financial help. She will need artificial legs and more financial and moral support. We want to stress that such an evil and unthinkable act has never happened before in Mizoram. We hope and pray that it will not occur again. Lalliannguri needs encouragement and support. If you want to help, you may contact MCGN.

JAPAN:
Coordinator Pu Lalhruaia has informed us that some members of MCGN-Japan have contributed money to help Miss Lalliannguri (stated above) who lost her two legs and the  sight of one eye. Japan's contribution is commendable, fulfilling MCGN vision. We do appreciate our friends in Japan. May God bless them!

MYANMAR(BURMA):

Good news! Now, we can contact our friends in Myanmar (Burma) by e-mail. For the last five years we have been frustrated by not being able to contact them. We trust that we will continue an active partnership through our e-mails.

A Peace Conference organized by MCGN-Myanmar leader Dr. Laithuama was held at Tahan on February 7-8, 2002. Seventy-two leaders from different organizations (Myanmar Council of Churches, Myanmar Bible Society, Myanmar Baptist Convention, Myanmar Anglican Church) attended the conference. They held Bible studies; and they discussed Biblical perspectives on peace, historical perspectives on tribalism, and the intimate relationship of Christianity and Christian churches. All attendants participated enthusiastically. MCGN International HQ and MCGN-Japan contributed a modest fund for the conference. It is encouraging to note that the money was well spent for the intended purpose.

NEPAL:

From Pokhara, Pu Sanglura (Lura) informed us about the recent condition of MCGN in Aizawl, Mizoram. We sincerely thank him for his encouraging letters.

Lura also shared about his church's growth. Since the Lord first sent him to Nepal to be a fisher of men, many people have come to accept the Lord. As the church attendance grew, Lura's home became too small for fellowhipping and worshipping.  The new church building is 25' x 55'.  It was completed in May of 2002.  What great news! Remember the focus of missions:  Bring people to Christ.  Save Souls!

We hope that some day we can worship together with our brothers and sisters in Myanmar, Japan, etc.

USA:

Liana and Ngeni Mualchin were invited to the 40th ministry anniversary of Frank and Anneli Dietz on May 17.  It was a very special occasion for all who attended.  Frank is an established leader of Operation Mobilization (OM) ministry and one of the co-founders of LOGOS II and DOULOS, Christian mission ships travelling around the world.  Frank said that in the ship there were about 300 people from 50 different cultures and yet they all got along.  Seeing so many people working together in one spirit is a very powerful message to the ship visitors.  More than a million people visit the ships every year and many of them find the Lord.  We admire Frank's leadership.  He has a special talent for bringing people together from different cultures, languages, and countries. On the anniversary night, there were people from USA, Great Britain, Africa, India, Iran, Turkey, and Puerto Rico. The celebration was a really joyful, encouraging and challenging Christian  missions event.

We appreciate the following people from India for acknowledging MCGN letters and sharing their ministries or thoughts: Dr. Chinkholal Thangsing (Lala), Pu Lalnilawma, Dr. Lalnilawma Vuite (Nitea), Benjamin RTZ, Pu Rinsanga, Pu Isaac Hnamte, Pu Vanlalzauva Ralte (Zauva), and Pu Lalbiakdika Varte (Biakdika).  We apologize if we have missed anyone.

A Fellowship and Prayer Meeting was held June 7, 2002 at the Mualchin's home.  In attendance were:  Liana and Ngeni Mualchine, Marian Hanna and Patricia Macy.  Liana briefed the group on the necessity of supporting the many Mizo Christians who are willing to go into the mission field among the Hindus in India, Muslims in Bangladesh, and the Buddists in Burma.  They are willing, but many need training before entering the missionary field. Liana said we need to partnership with our brothers and sisters in the United States and elsewhere to equip the Christians in Mizoram and the surrounding region to reach out to millions of Hindus, Muslims and Buddhists before it is too late.  What is necessary for this effort is a dynamic Christian Center in Mizoram.

The group prayed for the Lord to bless Mizoram with leaders who will stand firm in the truth, with a heart for servanthood—wise and courageous men who will lead with honesty and integrity.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

·For holiness and purity among all Christian people of in Mizoram,

·For Mizo leaders to demonstrate good examples in their lives, and for Mizoram to   seek God's will.

·For persecuted and suffering Christians in different parts of the world.

·For peace in the Middle East and around the world.

·For MCGN's new leader in Mizoram, Dr. P. C. Biaksiama.

·For those impacted by landslides in Mizoram. Some were killed and many houses were damaged or destroyed.
