of
the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest” (Mt. 9:37-38)
CONDOLENCE:
BETTY HOGANA dear friend of MCGN, Betty Hogan recently passed away. A few years ago, Ngeni Mualchin met Betty and our Newsletter editor, Patricia Macy, in a women's Bible study. Betty had generously contributed for the Juliet Florio Scholarship fund of MCGN to help Mizo senior high school students. Patricia lovingly helped Betty in finding Christ and also in her physical and emotional needs till her last days. We are blessed to see such an example of Christian love and witness. May God bless Patricia, and may Betty rest in the Lord’s peace.
DR MARY BETH HAINE'S MOTHER
Mary Beth is one of the research team members who went to Mizoram with Liana. She is a wonderful Christian. Also, she was one of the speakers when MCGN held the Mizo Leadership Training (MLT) in California, USA. Her mother passed away in the month of February 2002. She was a wonderful mother and a faithful Christian. She did a lot for her church. She volunteered three days a week, helping elderly and needy people for many years. What an example for us. She will be missed by her family and friends, but she is in heaven with the Lord. We are proud to let you know about this remarkable lady. May God bless Mary Beth as she serves others as her mother did.

Buddy Hnamte wrote to us from Mizoram that he helped organized MCGN-Koltata chapter before he left Kolkata. Let us remember that most of them are students and pray that they will do well in their studies, the main reason for their being in Kolkata. We hope to hear from them soon. Buddy is now with Praise & Worship Team and please note a prayer request for his team. We wish him and the team well. |

In his first letter to Mizoram MCGN members, Co-ordinator Dr. P. C. Biaksiama informed them that MCGN has been restructured, and provided highlights of MCGN ministry that he received from Dr. Lalliana Mualchin. Previous leadership did not inform members about MCGN activities and he felt this was an appropriate time to start such communication. We hope that a more regular communication with its members will follow. As reported before, the SENSEI book in Mizo is about to be released from the publisher. We believe that SENSEI will be a good addition to mission literature and that we may be encouraged to see the difference in the lives of people when we are faithful to God’s call. Pu Laltanpuia and Pi Thangi Zote wrote to us about Mizoram Evangelical Graduates Fellowship (MEGF), their enjoyment in reading our newsletter, and appreciation for the contribution of our webmaster, brother Jeff Mead. They also sent us their June newsletter that includes their retreat program. We hope that they will continue to keep in touch. |

A long letter and valuable information from Lalhriatpuia Lianhna (son of V.L. Ngena of Serkawn), who recently returned to Mizoram from Hyderabad. We are very grateful that he told us about the Mizo society in Hyderabad. We love to hear about Mizo life in different parts of the world, especially about people who get involved in the Lord's kingdom ministry. |
| JAPAN |
|
Co-ordinator Pu Lalhruaia reported on a new group, Myanmar Christian Mission Center (MCMC), in Japan organized by MCGN-Japan Secretary Rev. Joseph Raltong. MCMC contributed financially to support the ministry of Pu Lallura and Pi Sangtei in Nepal. May God bless and multiply their gifts to increase the Lord's kingdom ministry. MCGN members (Pu Lalmawizuala, Pu Lalrinenga, Pu Lalsawmliana, Pu Lalendika and Pu Lalhruaia) also decided to help the ministry of a group of churches in Myanmar. These particular churches do not depend on support from overseas. They serve the Lord as best as they can and the Lord blesses their ministry mightily. Giving and sharing is perhaps the most practical way to have meaningful partnership relationships and to know one another better. Following what our brothers and sisters in Japan are doing, let us find ways to help others. Remember that all of us can pray for one another. Some can take steps to help and to encourage them in their activities. Nothing is too small or too big in the Lord’s service. Just bring it to Him and the Lord and Master will multiply. Through the ministry of our brothers and sisters in Japan, we believe that churches in Myanmar will be encouraged and be a blessing to their land. |

Rev. Dr. Laithuama, MCGN-Myanmar Co-ordinator, reported that their ministry is going well. He requested prayers for his daughter’s health and for his preparation for next year’s ministry. |

Pu Lallura is often generous in sharing with us. We received from him an article humorously titled "Pig Theology." It is about the Mizo culture from before the Christian missionaries' arrival in Mizoram to the present day. Also, we are glad to receive a beautiful photo of their brand new church, just completed in Pokhara. May God use it for His glory in Nepal. Once again, we are always glad to receive encouraging letters from our missionary friends in Nepal.

Brother Edward Morales is helping Liana Mualchin in preparing a power-point presentation of MCGN ministry. This will be used to share with interested individuals and churches. Ngeni Mualchin began sharing her testimony to people in the local jail through the jail ministry. We saw the Lord's blessing and anointing of her testimony. Pray that she will be bold to share the Good News. Her heart’s desire is to bring unsaved people to the Lord’s family. May the name of the Lord be glorified also in the jails. Remember two years ago, Liana Mualchin took an American research team to Mizoram that lead to the birth of Mizoram Action Research Center (MARC). In the spirit of co-operation, Darkhuangram Owner Association was willing to offer a 50-acres of land to MARC for research purposes. Now, MARC exists only in name and is not active so the above association is open to work with MCGN for operating projects from this land. Pray that we will know how to priortize projects and move to action. We want to be a blessing while building up the people so that more missionaries can be sent out and supported from Mizoram. |
