JULIET FLORIO
by
Ngeni Mualchin
Juliet is one of the special people God has brought into my life. She is the youngest life member of the Mizo Christian Global Network (MCGN). So many good things to tell you about her and her family, but I can not tell you all.
How we met: My supervisor called me one day and asked if I would be willing to help Aleta
(Juliet’s mom) in taking care of her daughter Juliet. She told me a little about Juliet.
At first, my answer (in my mind) was "NO", but I didn’t want to say it too quickly to her.
I asked more about Juliet then made up my mind that at least I should try. One thing came to
mind very strongly, and that was ‘obedience’.
As promised, I decided to see Juliet's mom. I was nervous and prayed without ceasing until I
got to their house. A beautiful, young lady opened the door for me. She was polite and
respectful. She told me a little bit about Juliet and showed me what was needed to take care
of her daughter. At the end of our conversation, she asked if I was willing to try. The answer
I had in my mind was ‘NO’ but I said, "You need someone who is more able and more experienced
than I am."Even before I had finished, Juliet's mom said, "Ngeni, for as long as you need,
I will teach you. I will be very patient with you." The same voice kept coming in my mind,
"Ngeni, Obedience!"
As a Christian I always said "Yes" to myself because I believed that whatever comes before
me is sent by God, and I will not run away from it. But I have run away many, many times.
Aleta said, "Ngeni, when I opened the door and saw you standing there, my mind was in peace.
I knew you were the one. When you came into my house, I felt my house was full with peace."
I was surprised. I wanted to believe, but my mind refused. To myself I prayed, "Lord, I
believe that you sent me to the right person but I think I am the wrong person. I need a sign."
In front of me I saw a book that looked like the Bible. That led me to think, "Maybe this is
a Christian family. Maybe the Holy Spirit is bringing us together to encourage one another."
Yet I could not see the book clearly enough to be sure it was the Bible.
Unwillingly I said to Aleta, "I am coming back to learn whatever you want me to do". During our
three hours of conversation, I learned one thing, and that was a mother’s love for her beautiful
daughter.
Even today I am still not good enough to take care of Juliet. But one thing I have learned is
that God brings us together to encourage each other. I am learning so many good things from
the Florio family. This is the reason I want to tell you as a Christian, obedience is very
important. When the Lord uses our life, Satan works hard to discourage us anyway he can. Don't
give up! Trust and obey, for there is no other way ".
THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH and THE
SPIRIT OF ERROR
In the next few Newsletters, we will reprint from a Moody Press publication on: The Spirit of
Truth and The Spirit of Error: 1. What God Has Said On Seven Fundamentals, and What Men Are
Now Saying. The first fundamental will be: GOD
WORD OF GOD
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. (Genesis 1:1).
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man, Christ Jesus. (1. Timothy 2:5).
From the time that it was, there am I; and now the Lord God, and his Spirit, hath sent me. (Isaiah 48:16).
Jesus was baptized; the Spirit descended; the Father spoke. (Matthew 3:16-17).
WHAT MEN ARE SAYING
Jehovah's Witnesses
Elohim is the plural of majesty. It does not mean that he is mysteriously a trinity. (New Heavens and New Earth, p. 36).
The obvious conclusion is that Satan is the originator of the trinity doctrine. (LG, p. 101).
Mormonism
God is an organized being just as we are who are now in the flesh. He is a progressive being,
and possesses the capacity of eternal increase. Perhaps once a child and mortal like ourselves.
(Gospel Doctrine, p. 64; AF, p. 529; Journal of Discourses, 1:123).
Every man who reigns in celestial glory is a god to his dominions. (McConkie, MD, p. 322)
Each god, through his wife or wives, raises up a numerous family of sons and daughters.
(Pratt, The Seer, 1, no. 3, p. 37).
Unity
God is not a person having life, intelligence, love, power. God is that invisible, intangible, but very real, something we call life. (Cady, Lessons in Truth, p. 6).
I believe the Hottentot, or the truest heathen that ever lived, he who worships the golden calf as his highest conception of God, worships God. (LT, p. 126, cited in Martin, p. 279).
Christian Science
Life, Truth, and Love constitute the triune Person called God-God the Father-Mother, Christ the spiritual idea of sonship; Divine Science or the Holy Comforter. (SH. 331:26-31).
The theory of three persons in one God (that is, a personal Trinity or Tri-unity) suggests polytheism, rather than the one everpresent I am. (SH. 256: 9-11).
God, Spirit, being all, nothing is matter. (SH. 113:18).
"The harvest is truly plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest"
(Mt. 9:37-38).
