COMMENTS ON MIZO LEADERSHIP TRAINING

(Liana & Ngeni Mualchin)

This is the first time MCGN-USA has hosted a small team from Mizoram, India. Weare grateful for Liberty Christian Center, Fairfield, California. Without theirsupport, we would not have been able to do it. Not only has LCC supported thepresent training, but they are willing to support and work with us in futureministries. Liana and Ngeni Mualchin are overwhelmed by LCC's generosity. TheLord pours upon us showers of His blessings! We don't quite know how to receive it, and so we need your prayers. Regarding our Mizo team members, each came with different expectations. Somecame hoping to receive new ideas to help them in their ministries. Some came not knowing really what to expect. They were all encouraged by the speakers messagesand the love expressed by members of LCC. And from the speakers and theTransformation Videos, the Mizo team learned the importance of working together. We hope that when the team returns to Mizoram their training will be usefultools in the Lord's ministry. We trust that their work with any group or anychurch will build up and equip our people in Mizoram for extending the Kingdomof God. Revival speaker and evangelist Pu Vanlalzauva already had a plan for a future ministry. Liana Mualchin contacted Nicky Cruz Outreach office in Colorado Springs. We willwrite a letter to Nicky Cruz inviting him to visit Mizoram sometime next year. Please pray for a positive response. We all agreed to establish a short annual training session in the USA for asmall team of leaders from Mizoram. Participants will pay their own air fares, and MCGN and supporters in the USA will provide accommodations and local transportation. In the future, anyone or any organization interested in participating in thetraining will sign an agreement before coming to the USA. Final selection ofparticipants will be made by MCGN International HQ-USA. This is a result of ourexperience in the present Mizo Leadership Training.Liana and Ngeni Mualchin think the MCGN Executive Director should have specialtraining here for several months, especially in the computer field for MCGNministry. They also feel that we need one or two people, trained in the USA, todo big projects they have in mind.

BRIEF REPORTS FROM MCGN GLOBAL POINTS

INDIA - MIZORAM:

We have received five short e-mail communications (Oct. 27 to date) from ourExecutive Director (ED), Pu Lalbiakdika Varte. We apologize for not being ableto share his e-mails in detail mainly because we were occupied with the MizoLeadership Training. Some of the important points are:

Pu Lalbiakdika had a difficult time in starting his job as Executive Directorbecause of uncompleted tasks left by our first ED, the late Pu Rina Sailo.Telephone service had been disconnected and without a telephone Pu Lalbiakdikahad no internet connection and could not send e-mails, etc. It is difficult to understand why the phone bills were not served regularly so the MCGN officecould pay them and avoid the inconvenience of the disconnect. Pu Lalbiakdika had to start everything from scratch, and you can imagine his frustrations. He hasarranged phone connection and the office seems to be running. Pray for him.

Pu Lalbiakdika has many good ideas for more effective use of informationtechnology such as introducing a counseling section on the MCGN website, posting news of Mizoram on a regular basis, and improving our Newsletters. Weagree with our Executive Director that we should do more through the internet, especially sharing the ministry work around the world.

We are overjoyed to let you know that the Rev. Fr. The Lord has blessed Pu Rotluanga in many ways with multi-talented gifts. He is loving, kind, and humble; ever willing to serveothers. We are fortunate to have his loving leadership in that part of theworld.

Pu Rotluanga will have more responsibilities in the affairs of the church, andhe has asked for our prayers. Therefore, let us continue to pray for hisstrength and wisdom so that he will be a faithful servant of the Lord as Bishopof the church.

There will be an Episcopal Consecration of the Rev. Father Stephen Rotluanga on Feb. 2, 2002 in Aizawl, Mizoram, in conjunction with the opening of the newCathedral. We are thankful to receive his personal invitation for the occasion.
