MCGN is a non-profit, non-denominational Christian organization promoting spiritual and economic development of the people in Mizoram and the surrounding region by serving them as Jesus did (Mt. 20:28)

THANKS

CONDOLENCES

Pu Lalnghinglova, brother of Evangelist Vanlalnghaka, passed away last month in Aizawl, Mizoram. It is a great loss for the community. He was the leader of the Lai Association.

Pi Sungchii, mother of MCGN-Nepal member and missionary Tlana, passed away recently in Mizoram. She was a wonderful Christian mother. When Tlana was going to his foreign assignment, she gave him these challenging words, "Now you are going to Nepal as a missionary, you should love Nepali people more than us". Let us think and act on this!

Pi Nemkhohat Lhungdim, mother of Lily Haokip, passed away recently in Manipur. Liana and Ngeni Mualchin attended her memorial service in Oakland, California. Lhungdim was a praying mom, praying everyday for her children. A good lesson for others.

BRIEF REPORTS FROM MCGN GLOBAL POINTS

JAPAN

We received encouraging and challenging news from Japan. MCGN members in Tokyo met July 8. They decided to have an MCGN meeting every three months with Mizo Christian Fellowship.

Their annual membership fee was set at Yen 5000, and they agreed to contribute Yen 500 monthly to fund-raising efforts. This will be used to help with the cost of publishing MCGN Newsletter in Mizoram.

They desire to have the monthly MCGN Newsletter from Mizoram and USA distributed so that everyone can read it. Tv. Lalsanglura and Tv. Zosanglura will be responsible for the distribution, using their funding contribution.

Finally, they also agreed to hold leadership elections on a yearly basis. Once again, MCGN-Japan became very active. May God bless you all!

INDIA: MIZORAM

Leaders in Mizoram expressed a serious need for laptop computers so they can accomplish all their important work for MCGN and MARC. If they could take a laptop home, many more tasks would be completed and everything would move faster. This tool is urgently needed now. To anyone who can donate a laptop, please know that it will be greatly appreciated.

INDIA:DELHI

Dr. Lala is coming to the USA the last of September and the first week of October. We are sorry time does not permit him to join the Leadership Training in California. He will be in Los Angeles before coming to Placerville for a "Quest of Honor Dinner", sponsored by a group named "To Serve". After that, he will visit the Oakland Pediatric Hospital.

MYANMAR (BURMA)

We received a letter from Dr. Laithuama. MCGN-Myanmar is planning a Peace Conference which they expect will cost about $2000, a lot of money in Myanmar. They need help to finance the conference. If anyone is willing to help, please send your donation to MCGN-USA. Any little help you give will mean a lot to them. MCGN-USA will also donate something to show our love and care for them.

Rev. Rualchhina received information about the persecution of Christians near the border of Myanmar and Manipur State of India.

NEPAL

Pu Lura has returned safely from his trip to Tibet. Lura visited five towns in Tibet and a several villages, but no group meetings were held because of the restricted conditions in the country.

Pu Ringa expressed his desire to attend the Leadership Training in California, USA. We are sorry that he will not able to participate this year.

USA

Encouraging letter from Brother Robert Wood, GospelGo. He is truly for the Kingdom of God. Here is a portion of his letter:

...........This June GospelGo received over a hundred good responses from Bhutan. The country is "closed" to the gospel and proselytism is illegal. Yet it pleased God to touch many precious souls. Letters are still pouring in, with people asking for more!

Read their cheerful replies: http://gospelgo.com/a/btnpals.htm ............

A special meeting was held on Friday, July 13, at the Mualchins' residence. It was a special blessed day for us. We selected four students to receive the Juliet Florio Scholarships. During the meeting, some chose to sponsor a fifth student scholarship.

There is more! One of our friends shared the scholarship information with another friend, and she contributed generously. We may be able to give six or seven scholarships this year.

From Pastor Rualchhina:

"In recent time, I learnt that there are some MCGN members who have question in their mind as to why I am released from being secretary of MCGN. It is simply because I cannot carry out my responsibility which demands my time and energy and not enough skill in technology communication.

In my former missionary field I have private projects and I hold also responsibility in Calvary SDA church here in Burtonville of Maryland. My own household affairs and livelihood and other unavoidable social and religious responsibilities are already more than I normally could hold. The MCGN members around the world are hereby inform that my released from being secretary is an earnest resignation with an idea in my mind for the betterment of MCGN. However I shall remain MCGN spiritual adviser, the spiritual side of work from which I would not resign".

PRAYER REQUESTS FOR:

PROJECTS

Illustrated Book of Mizoram is on hold, as Liana has not had time to work on it. But it has high priority on our list of projects.

A Christian magazine focusing on highlighting the missionary activities of various church groups in Mizoram is still in the works. The Executive Director of MCGN is responsible for launching this ministry.

THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH and THE SPIRIT OF ERROR

(Continued from the previous Newsletter)

What God has said about SALVATION and what men are now saying.

WORD OF GOD

But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the children of God, even to them that believe on His name. (John 1:12)

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life; and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life. (John 3:36)

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is a gift of God—not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES

That which is redeemed or brought back is perfect human life with its rights and earthly prospects. (LG, p.114)

An unnumbered crowd of faithful persons do not expect to go to heaven. They are promised everlasting life on earth if they prove their faithfulness. (LG, p.231)

It is a gross twisting of the Scripture to throw Jesus’ words of John 3:3 to make them embrace all mankind. (The Watchtower, Nov 15, 1954, p. 681)

MORMONISM

We believe that through the atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the gospel. (AF, 3)

The first principles and ordinances of the gospel are: Faith on the Lord Jesus Christ; repentance, baptism by immersion for the remission of sin; and laying on of hand for the gift of the Holy Ghost. (AF 4)

Baptism is … the very gateway into the kingdom of heaven, an indispensable step in our salvation and exaltation. (Bennett, Why I Am a Mormon, p. 124)

UNITY

Jesus of Nazareth played an important part in opening the way for every one of us into the Father’s kingdom. However, that was not through His death on the cross, but through His overcoming death. (UTC, p. 67)

To "know thyself" is to know that you are I AM and not flesh and blood. It is this I AM that is born of the flesh and born of Spirit. (SB, p. 206)

We believe the repeated incarnations of man to be a merciful provision of our loving Father to the end that all may have opportunity to obtain immortality through regeneration as did Jesus. (Unity Statement of Faith, art. 22)

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE

The material blood of Jesus was no more efficacious to cleanse from sin when it was shed upon the accursed tree than when flowing in his veins as he went daily about his Father’s business. (SH, 25:6-9)

Salvation is Life, Truth, and Love understood and demonstrated as supreme over all; sin, sickness, and death destroyed. (SH, 593-20-22)

Jesus taught the way of Life by demonstration. There is but one way to heaven; harmony and Christ in Divine Science shows us this way. (SH, 242:9-10; 244:5)

Next month we will trace what God says about RETRIBUTION and what man is now saying.

The harvest is truly plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest

(Mt. 9:37-38).
