Newsletter: March 2000

MCGN is a non-profit, non-denominational Christian organization to promote spiritual and economic development of the people in Mizoram and the surrounding region by serving them as Jesus did (Mt. 20:28).

THANKS TO:

Mr. Jerry Kaehele of Park Community Church in Shingle Springs, California for the audio tape cassette he donated to MCGN. Dr. Liana and Ngeni used it to record Mizo and English words and phrases to be used by the Fielding Institute Research Team during their March trip to Mizoram. The team will have learned some of the Mizo language as well as Mizo songs even before they arrive in Mizoram.

Thanks for all your prayers. Dr. Liana Mualchin and Stuart Spani arrived safely in Mizoram and are traveling and filming in remote areas of the country.

CONDOLENCE:

Our sincere condolence to Lalhruaia, MCGN Co-Ordinator for Japan. His 17 year old son Lalbiakpuia died suddenly in February. After suffering only one day from a headache, Lalbiakpuia was admitted to the hospital. His suffering was caused by a brain tumor. All MCGN members and workers wish Lalhruaia to know their sorrow for his loss. May God bring peace into the heart of all who knew Lalbiakpuia

CONGRATULATIONS:

To Dr. Liana and Ngeni Mualchin on their 23rd wedding anniversary this month. Ngeni asked that Liana's favorite poem be printed here.

FOOTPRINTS

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonged to him, and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it. "LORD, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand when I needed you most you would leave me."

The LORD replied, "My precious, precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

BRIEF REPORTS AND COMMENTS FROM MCGN GLOBAL POINTS:

CANADA:

Stuart Spani (MGCG Co-Ordinator for Canada) is now in Mizoram with Dr. Mualchin filming the natural beauty of the land as well as the people and the Fielding trip activities. Great benefits to Mizos are expected as a result of Mr. Spani's time and talent on this exciting project.

JAPAN:

Pu Lalhruaia (MCGN Co-Ordinator for Japan) has introduced two new members from India. He is also expecting one new life member from Japan in the near future.

MIZORAM:

Lian UK from Eastern Zoram expressed his appreciation for Lallura's personal testimony in the February 2000 Newsletter. Lian UK was impressed with the strategy Lallura uses to win Tibetan souls to Jesus Christ. Lallura places great importance on language study for any effective work among Tibetans.

Lian UK states that in Eastern Zoram the Baptists have successfully launched missionary work among their kin. They are now 85% Christian.

NEPAL:

Mizo missionaries in Kathmandu find it difficult to operate both Kids Learning Center and Orphanage. They are considering handing over Orphanage to reliable people if they can find such. In other words, they need help in the above ministries. Those interested to know more and help them may contact President Lalliana Mualchin.

USA:

Rev. Rualchhina, spiritual advisor to MCGN, has purchased the new fax machine and speaker phone that were approved for Mizo Christian Global Network during the phone meeting in February. His number is 301-313-0953.

The Fielding Institute Action Research Team will have a training session in Placerville, California on March 17. In the evening they will dine on Mizo food at the Mualchin home. And the next day, Saturday, they will fly to Mizoram. Dr. Liana Mualchin and Stuart Spani will meet the team in Aizawl, Mizoram, on March 22. The Mizoram Research Team will also be there to greet their arriving team partners.

Dr. Liana and Ngeni met with Tentmakers in Vacaville, California in February. Ngeni has received word the Tentmakers are eager to work with MCGN. More information will be forthcoming in the next Newsletter.
